By initially reading my blog title, I know a few little nasties are giving side eyes, smirks and saying the expected Toronto slang “YA EH ” based solely on the double meaning behind my chosen topic.
Get your minds out the gutter.
All jokes aside.
We are more powerful than we believe.
The bible says life and death are in the power of the tongue and whether we want to believe it or not our thoughts and words have the strongest impact on our lives.
The “Religious” response would be to say is that as a believer we have the power to speak the life we want into existence. From a young age we are taught that we have the authority over our lives, bodies and actions and that what we verbalize into the atmosphere will be our portion.
Putting religion aside author “J.K. Rowling said “Words are the most inexhaustible source of magic we can have”, the power that our words hold can make or break, build or kill, brighten or dim.
When speaking things into “existence” comes to mind I think of the concept of the Law of Attraction.
The Law of Attraction states that we can attract into our lives whatever it is that we are focusing on. The Law of Attraction essentially says that regardless of age, nationality or religion we are all susceptible to the laws that govern the Universe. Through the Law of Attraction, our mental thoughts get materialized into our reality.
When I was younger I could tell you exactly how my life was going to be. Back then was my Barbie and Pink faze and I knew that once I got older I would have it all including the nice house with a pink jeep ( almost like the ones Barbie drives), 1-2 kids ( even though I didn’t know where kids came) and live happily ever after.
The end.
At that age I never knew that I next to God had most control over what direction my life would go in.Often times we believe that the control we have over our lives is limited and that whatever is supposed to happen will happen.
Que Sera, Sera ( Whatever will be will be)
Though that may be true in some cases essentially I truthfully believe we have the the power to dictate our future in one way or another. If our mindset, words and actions are all negative we can’t expect positivity to follow us and be manifested into our lives. Our brain power along with our verbal expressions can control even down to our bodies.
Phantom pregnancy is an excellent example showing how much power our minds and mouths have. Imagine not being physically pregnant but programming your mind to think that you are carrying a baby, and your body in turn expanding to accommodate a fetus that is non existent.
Scary eh.
A few months back a friend of mine named Devika unknowingly took on a role as a my unofficial accountability partner ( yeayyyyyy). During a meeting we had at Starbucks amongst all the other life nuggets she gave me, one that stood out the most was her comments about affirmations. She told me I need to wake up, spend time with God and then affirm things over my life. Hearing her tell me to affirm positive things over my life at first to me was debatable. I knew the “Christian” thing to do is to call things that are not as if they were, using the power that God has given us to make our one life we live our best life, yet I was doubtful. I could not see past the pain that I was feeling, the stress from my job, personal life and family life. It’s always at the times that we are at our lowest that we find it the hardest to hear from God, feel him and see him.
During these times when we feel we are at our lowest and things may not being going the way we want them too, those are the best times for us to truly affirm positive things over our lives. For the days and moments when we feel like we cant make it and we don’t have the courage to build ourselves up, this is when your “support” “dogs dem, crew, rollies, friends or whatever you may call them come into action. Surrounding yourself with people who can pray for you when you’re too torn to utter words, fight along with you when people try to attack you, speak words of wisdom and guidance into your life, or even give you a joke to cheer you up is so crucial.
How to Strengthen your motivation and speak things into Existence?
- Be Optimistic: To be Optimistic to be hopeful, confident, cheerful, buoyant.. about your future. As human at times when things don’t go the way we want them to our human instinctual response may often be something negative, we may automatically feel let down and gravitate towards a mindset that limit us and our potential. In order to truly speak things we want in and for our lives we have to look at situations in life in a new way. Having a positive attitude is CRUCIAL as it affects the way we speak, walk, talk and interact with others. Once one practices being optimistic they start speaking about solutions instead of problems, situations that once bothered no longer have that effect, smile more, eat better and take better care of their “temple”.
- AFFIRM, AFFIRM AFFIRM: ” I am successful , I am beautiful, I am great, I will have a good day, I am the head and not the tail, I am above and not beneath, I am a lender and not a borrower”. Affirmations are used for a variety of reasons with the main focus being to reprogram our subconscious mind. Sometimes affirmations are even used to create the reality we wish to gain in terms of what we want for our future lives. By reaffirming things daily we slowly begin to mentally manifest what we want into our daily lives, they create self change and promote positive thinking.
- Bad Company Corrupts Good Character: At some point in our lives we have had our parents give us that ‘mind the company you keep” speech. When we are younger we never really realize how influential our company can be in our daily decision making process. Elevating our lives towards a more positive, uplifting and stress free place requires separation. The crowd we associate ourselves with have the biggest impact on us whether we want to admit it or not. If we align ourselves with negative, lazy, motivation-less ( made up word) people then the lack of drive and desire they have to progress in life will slowly be reflective in our lives. Surround yourself with bosses, people who do the
damnthings and are not afraid to take on challenges, speak positive words into your life and have like goals and visions. Even the Good Books says ” Two cannot walk unless they agree”, so how can two people who are on two different wavelengths truly walk together?
So I pose this question to you..
What that mouf do?
Speak Life or Drain Life?
Build or Destroy?
